01Why care matters
Sand, abrasive dust and aggressive chemicals leave micro-scratches and make the surface dull. Regular cleaning keeps the look, the strength and the resistance to water and chemicals.
02Every day
- Do not let dust and abrasive particles build up: dry or damp cleaning with a soft brush, a vacuum cleaner or a microfibre mop.
- In offices, shops and production halls do a light damp clean every day.
- Use neutral cleaning agents with a pH of about 7.
- Pay attention to entrances: street sand works like sandpaper. Lay dirt-trapping mats and clean them regularly.
- Wipe up spills at once, especially oils and reagents.
03Every week
Once a week wash the floor more thoroughly with water and mild neutral or alkaline cleaners. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry so that no streaks remain. In large rooms scrubber-driers with soft white or red pads are convenient.
04What never to do
- Acids, their salts and oxidising agents: they change the colour of the coating. Avoid harsh household products with solvents.
- Steam cleaners and very hot water.
- Abrasive sponges, scouring powders and metal brushes.
- Dragging furniture and heavy equipment: use trolleys or soft pads.
- Standing water left for a long time: it can cause clouding and stains.
05How often to clean
| Room | Cleaning | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Offices, shops | every day | neutral cleaning agents |
| Production halls | every day | remove abrasive dust regularly |
| Warehouses, technical areas | 1–2 times a week | spot cleaning when needed |
| Vehicle workshops, garages | 2–3 times a week | remove oil stains at once |
06Deep cleaning and varnish
Every 6–12 months clean the floor deeply to remove old dirt and restore the gloss. Depending on the coating, a protective layer can then be applied: a polymer emulsion or a finishing varnish such as Teping Floor 205 PU Varnish Matt or Teping Floor 205 PU Varnish Semi-Matt. In busy areas renew the varnish every 2–3 years.
Gloss floors scratch more visibly and need gentle handling and occasional polishing. Matt floors hide micro-scratches better but need the same regular damp cleaning.
07Scratches and repairs
Small scratches and chips from abrasive loads are normal. They can be carefully sanded and restored with the same product the floor was laid with. To change the colour, or to lay a new coat over an old floor, grind the surface and prime it first.
